  10. Manage personal, business and internet addresses, unlimited phone/fax
  11. numbers, email addresses, family relationships, birthdays, marriage
  12. dates. Manage ToDo lists, and Reminders at regular intervals. Manage
  13. subscriptions, credit cards, bank accounts, etc. Export/Import to/from
  14. text files, CompuServe Address Book. Share home/work addresses and phone
  15. numbers, auto-fill partial entries (EasyFill), customize EasyLists to
  16. view, edit and print only the attributes you want, quickly lookup
  17. information (EasyLook), print custom labels and address book. Filter
  18. (EasyFilter) and sort (EasySort) lists and labels in any way you want
  19. to, and more.  Dial phone, send email, open web addresses using your
  20. favorite applications. Registration provides free email support, and
  21. free upgrades for atleast one year.

  27. EasyManager For Windows manages personal information including
  28. internet addresses, ToDo lists, and Reminders. Export/import
  29. relevant information to text files and other programs like
  30. CompuServe Address Book, etc. 
  31.  
  32. Apart from the personal information like postal addresses,
  33. unlimited telephone/fax/email/web addresses, you can also keep
  34. family relationships for persons so you don't have to separately
  35. remember the names and other details of your friends/relatives'
  36. spouses and their children. You can share home addresses and
  37. telephone/fax numbers amongst persons living together so you do
  38. not have to worry about entering the same information multiple
  39. times and maintaining consistency.

  41. You can keep all the details of your accounts like subscription,
  42. bank, credit card, and store accounts. You can manage ToDo lists,
  43. and reminders.

  45. You can easily enter, view, filter, sort and print personal 
  46. information on Persons, Businesses, Accounts, ToDo and Reminders.
  47. You can create your own Lists and Labels.

  49. You can export/import data to/from text files and CompuServe

  209. REQUIREMENTS
  210. ------------
  211.  
  212. Windows 3.1 or higher running on 486 or higher IBM PC or
  213. compatible. At Least 4 MB RAM required.
  214.

  216. INSTALLATION
  217. ------------
  218.  
  219. If installing from the EZMGRxxx.ZIP file:
  220. [IMPORTANT: READ INSTALLATION NOTES BELOW]
  221.  
  222. 1. Unzip the package by PKUNZIP or any other compatible UNZIP
  223.    utility. Unpack it in a directory which is not going to be the
  224.    final destination directory where EasyManager For Windows will
  225.    be installed.
  226.  
  227. 2. Run install.exe from within Windows Program Manager as
  228.    install.exe. [This step is needed to copy all the files to
  229.    your destination directory, and to create a Program Group]
  230.  
  231. If installing from EasyManager For Windows floppy diskette:
  232.  
  233. 1. Insert the diskette to the appropriate drive
  234. 2. Run install.exe from within windows Program manager as
  235.    a:\install.exe.
  236.  
  237.  
  238. Installation Notes:
  239.  
  240. NOTE 1: During installation, do not specify destination directory
  241.     same as source directory. It will confuse the
  242.     installation program.
  243.  
  244. IF YOU ARE UPGRADING READ FOLLOWING NOTES.
  245.  
  246. NOTE 2: Note your registration number before upgrading. You will need
  247.         it when you run this version for the first time.
  248.  
  249. NOTE 3: If you had previously installed EasyManager For Windows
  250.         and you are not upgrading in the same directory as before,
  251.         please delete the EasyManager program group first, otherwise
  252.         the path information will be incorrect.
  253.  
  254. NOTE 4: During installation, your previous customizations will not 
  255.         be restored. However, if you are upgrading from version 2.5 or
  256.         2.5.1, you can restore your previous customizations by running
  257.         EZUPDATE.BAT from the EasyManager installation directory. This
  258.         will allow you to restore your old customizations, and also add
  259.         most (but not all) of the new default customizations that come
  260.         with this version.

  266. GENERAL ADVICE FOR NEW USERS
  267. ----------------------------
  268.  
  269. These are suggestions for new users to help them get started
  270. quickly and avoid pit falls later on. Ofcourse, you can come up
  271. with your own set of rules depending on your style.
  272.  
  273.  - Before starting, read the Help item "Getting Started".
  274.  
  275.  - Set your preferences. You can get to the Preferences Dialog
  276.    from "Edit -> Preferences" menu item.
  277.  
  278.  - To get started, it is easiest to enter all information using
  279.    the EasyEditor. EasyLists are more convenient, and also more
  280.    versatile once all your data is entered in the program.
  281.    
  282.  - Some predefined EasyLists are already provided for your
  283.    convenience. You can define new EasyLists or edit the
  284.    definition of an existing EasyLists by clicking on
  285.    "EasyLists -> Define EasyList..." menu item.
  286.  
  287.  - Create Person objects to store information of people like
  288.    their home, work and email addresses, telephone and fax
  289.    numbers, family relationships, age, date of birth and
  290.    marriage, etc.
  291.  
  292.  - Create a Business object if you only want to store information
  293.    NOT associated with a person but is associated with a business
  294.    entity. You can store business name, postal and email address,
  295.    telephone and fax numbers, and comments.
  296.  
  297.  - Create Account objects if you want to store information on
  298.    your accounts like credit cards, bank cards, subscriptions, etc.
  299.  
  300.  - Create ToDo objects to maintain a list of things to do. An EasyList
  301.    of ToDo objects will tell you what things you need to do.   
  302.  
  303.  - Create Reminder objects to maintain a list of things you want to
  304.    be reminded of and how often. EasyManager will create ToDo objects
  305.    automatically to remind you as necessary.
  306.  
  307.  - For Person Objects, specify the following relationships
  308.    whenever you can:
  309.      - Living With: This will automatically help you share home
  310.             address, phone and fax between persons living
  311.             together.
  312.                     
  313.                   Person with whom others are living with is 
  314.                   called the "Primary" Person or "Head of Household".
  315.                   Be careful whom you select as head of household,
  316.                   as you can filter objects based on who the head 
  317.                   of household is.
  318.  
  319.      - Working With: This will automatically help you share
  320.              Company Name and Work Address between
  321.              persons working together. In the next
  322.              release, you can also optionally share the
  323.              work phone and fax numbers.
  324.  
  325.  - When entering a Person's name, follow a convention of entering
  326.    first name, middle name, last name in that order. The names
  327.    are split into first, middle and last automatically by 
  328.    EasyManager.
  329.  
  330.  - To add/create multiple telephone, fax, email addresses from within
  331.    EasyList, use the Right Mouse Button Menu. Simply press the
  332.    right mouse button by keeing the mouse pointer in the cell where
  333.    you want to add a new telephone number, etc. and choose the
  334.    appropriate menu item.
  335.  
  336.  - Year part in the Date fields must be specified along with the century.
  337.    This is to avoid the problems when we reach year 2000.
  338.    Example: 1995 is correct, whereas 95 is not correct.
  339.  
  340.  - Currently, in some cases the first time you open a window within
  341.    EasyManager (like EasyList, EasyEditor, etc.) if the window
  342.    does not appear on the screen, the window is off-screen. You can
  343.    get the window back by clicking on "Tile" or "Cascade" menu 
  344.    item from the "Window" menu. - This problem is fixed. If you
  345.    still see this problem, please report it.
  346.  
  347.  - You must ensure that your system date and time is set correctly for 
  348.    shareware license to work. You can set the date and time from DOS using
  349.    the "Date" and "Time" commands, or from your BIOS setup.
  350.  
  351.  - To quickly go from EasyList to EasyEditor, double-click the "Id" of
  352.    the object in the EasyList. It will display the EasyEditor with the
  353.    object selected in the EasyEditor.
  354.  
  355.  - To quickly jump to an object that is being referred to by an attribute
  356.    of another object in either the EasyList or EasyEditor, press Ctrl+J.
  357.  
  358.  - Don't forget to try the Right mouse button popup menu in EasyLists,
  359.    EasyLook and EasyEditor. They are very handy.

  381. the software and delete the software permanently from your hard
  382. disk.
